An update of our News 2008
LAND DEAL - Early in the year the Trust were in discussion
over a proposal of a land deal. There was an informal meeting held
with an architect who
volunteered to explore the possibility of planning on the land and
to report back with his findings. The positive and cautious response
encouraged the Trust to begin the process of submitting a planning
application and at this time we are eagerly awaiting an outcome.
FUNDRAISING - A major part of the Trust's activities has
been promotion
and fund raising. A website has been set up and is updated
regularly. Fund-
raising events have been focused on local churches, village events,
schools,
societies and friends of the Trust. The London Marathon event raised
a good
amount of funds using both Gift Aid and Just Giving facilities. A
big thank you to everyone. A professional fundraiser has shown
interest in providing his services to engage in fundraising of the
project when planning permission has been gained.
TRUSTEES AND NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS - We have had an
increase in
the Trustees and the addition of a Non-Executive Director and we
continue to look to increase our Trustees to provide a growing
skills base.
