Welcome to the Agape
Family Care Trust
The Agape Family Care Trust is a Christian Trust which received
charitable status in 1992. The Trust is committed to building
purpose-built units in east Sussex which encompass day care, respite
and long-stay care facilities for young adults with profound
disabilities.
The Trust came into
being out of a growing concern for families with young members who
have profound learning and physical disabilities, and for whom there
is a desperate need for appropriate specialized respite, day or
long-
term residential care.
The Trust was
originally centred round two young adults with multiple difficulties
who have been cared for at home by their parents, all founder
members and current directors of the Trust. Emma Chatfield and Amy
Watson require
constant stimulation and 24-hour care from their parents to meet
their special needs, but due to a lack of suitable local facilities,
their future looks bleak.
There are many other young people in a similar position, whose
carers need the assurance of a well-equipped, safe and loving
environment for them, both for immediate respite and for their
long-term future.
Standing
Order Forms
- anyone who
would like to commit an amount on a regular basis can apply for the
necessary banking instructions form from the Trust by telephoning
(01323 840752).
The offices of the Trust have moved to
Haven House, Station Road, Hellingly, Hailsham, East Sussex BN27.
Tel. 01323 840752 where you can obtain any details or information
about ourselves and our new and future projects.
The exciting news is that the Trust has now
purchased land in the area and are looking ahead to outline planning
and then planning permission for a residence for four young people
with complex disabilities and special needs. Our wish is that the
young people become part of the community, have a loving and caring
life style in a home from home environment with access and
opportunity of stimulation and development to meet their special
needs for life.
NEW MEMBER TO OUR TEAM
- We now have a new Office Co-ordinator -
Karen Guest has joined the team and we look forward to her being
involved and supporting the Trust.
